Here is a list of requirements to obtain a South Carolina State Contractors License:

  • Form a legal entity: Register an LLC or Inc. with the South Carolina Secretary of State.
  • Identify a Qualifying Party with the required experience.
  • Exams must be passed prior to applying for the license.
  • South Carolina accepts NASCLA GC and EC Endorsements.
  • Prove experience as per classification requested.
  • The Qualifying Party must submit a copy of his or her government-issued identification and social security card with the application.
  • Recent Financial Statements or Bond are required for the Group Limitation of licensing.
  • South Carolina has reciprocity agreements with multiple states specific to the classification requested.
  • Burglar and Fire Alarm Alarm contracting requires Alarm Board licensing.
